Headteacher's Welcome

The children, staff and governors of Awbridge Primary, welcome you to our school website.

Whilst idyllically rural in location, we are also just three miles north west of the market town of Romsey, 10 miles from the bustling city port of Southampton and 15 miles from the picturesque cathedral city of Salisbury.

As a school we form part of a family of schools in the local area. In December 2020 we became part of an exciting new Academy Trust with Winchester University, meaning that our staff and pupils are supported by experts in the field of primary education.

We have a wonderfully dedicated, enthusiastic and committed team; who consistently work hard to give the very best education, both academically and socially, to our children.  Parents and carers play a very important part in school life and we value our partnership with them. We all share responsibility for the children’s education and we look forward to working closely together in their best interests.

We are committed to equipping our children with the learning skills and love of learning that will provide them with an excellent foundation for their later education and indeed, life. Our world is ever-changing and we therefore aim to foster learners who are adaptive, creative, resilient and resourceful and able to take their place as citizens who can make a positive contribution to society. To do this we endeavour to create a curriculum that is inspiring and innovative while building on the best of strong traditions.

We hope that you will enjoy exploring the website, which will give you a glimpse into what makes Awbridge a really special place for our children. In January 2017 we were rated 'Good' by Ofsted who recognised all the achievements of the school, the drive and ambition within the school and the positive attitudes the children show to their learning, the school and each other.
