Thursday 21st

Happy Thursday Beech Class! Only 2 more days to go until half term - keep going!

Today,  please read 'Old Deuteronomy' from Cats (T.S.Eliot) and use relative clauses to write about an illustration about it.

Don't forget you can also look through this reading website and explore all the super 7000 books online. These include fiction, non-fiction and graphic novels.

There are also some brilliant book activities on National Literacy Trust.

Reading Challenge!

Could you write a book review?

For this weeks spellings, you are continuing to learn and practise the use use of suffixes, focussing on -ness as a suffix.

Don't forget, Suffixes are a letter or group of letters that go at the end a word and change or add to the words meaning, while prefixes go at the beginning. Suffixes can reveal if a word is a noun, adjective, adverb or a verb. Practise these words daily on your own paper or print out the sheet.

Don't forget to practise your spellings on Spelling Shed.

Use the grid and short multiplication methods for x and dividing by 1 digit.

Don't forget to practise your times tables on Times Tables Rock Stars

Extra Activities

A delicious Summer activity!

From this weeks Ice Cream and Ice-lolly activities, why don't you have a go at making the wrapper or packaging?

To make the wrapper, why don’t you use some recycling around your house, tissue paper, card, silver foil, lollipop sticks or even some colourful wrapping paper?

Challenge: Can you actually make your design of ice-cream/lolly? ASK A PARENT FIRST

Then, take a photo and email your teacher!
