Good morning and happy St George's Day!
Here are some exciting activities that you could do today.
Maths - Adding 5 numbers
We return to adding today and look at adding 5 single digit numbers together.
Remember to look out for any number facts that will help you. For example, you may find pairs that make ten or spot doubles!
English - Write a character description on Olga, Sergei or Baba Yaga
Watch the video clip of the story of Baba Yaga and the Black Geese again. Decide which character you would like to write a description of. You could organise this using sub-headings such as Appearance, Likes and Dislikes, Feelings or How He/She Behaves. Try to use conjunctions in some of your sentences such as because, when, if, so, but. Why not draw a picture of the character too!
If you want a further activity, you could ask a family member to help you read the text version of the story. How is this version different from the one you listened to on Youtube? There is a comparison chart for you to complete for this activity - can you think of 4 things that are the same and 4 that are different?
If you have drawn or made your own Fantasy Insect, perhaps you can now write a fact file or a story about it. Try to use sub-headings to help with organisation. You can include information such as what it looks like, where it lives, what it likes to eat, how it behaves...for example, can it fly? What does it like to do? Is there anything it doesn't like?
Don't forget to start with a title and include its name!
