The University of Winchester Academy Trust is a family of five schools based in and around, Eastleigh, Winchester and Romsey.

Previous clerking experience is desirable and ongoing professional development will be supported. The main purpose of the role is to provide support, advice and guidance to the Board of Trustees on governance, constitutional and procedural matters. The successful applicant will contribute towards the efficient functioning of the Trust board and its committees by:

• providing administrative and organisational support;

• providing guidance to ensure that the board works in compliance with the appropriate legal and regulatory framework, and understands the potential consequences for noncompliance; and

• providing advice on procedural matters relating to the operation of the board.

• acting as Company Secretary to the Academy Trust

We are looking for an individual who can be professional and flexible in their approach; there are no fixed working hours but in general meetings are held during office hours at Halterworth Primary School. The Trust is happy to support remote working for this role which can be combined with work in the Trust offices at Halterworth if required. The successful applicant may (with notice) be required to attend extra ordinary meetings outside of office hours, make visits to school, attend training events (daytime and evening), and work from home independently to complete administrative and research duties.
