Awbridge Primary School is federated with Wellow Primary School & Pre School, working within a Family of Schools (a Collaboration) with Halterworth Primary School and The Halterworth Teaching School Partnership under the leadership of Jo Cottrell our Executive Headteacher (EHT). The previous post holder has commenced a new leadership role in Hampshire.
As Head of School for Awbridge you are part of a wider dynamic and extremely supportive senior leadership team, working closely with the Heads of School from Wellow, Halterworth & the Teaching School. Staff from our three schools have the opportunity to work across schools and to enhance their professional careers through school to school collaboration.
Awbridge is expanding to 6 classes from September 2019, with highly effective staff in post, many who have grown through the ranks of the family of schools and from our Initial Teacher Training programme with The University of Winchester.
Awbridge was graded a good school by Ofsted in January 2017 and remains evaluated as good by our LA LLP and leadership team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior leader or deputy headteacher to take the next step in their career towards headship, within a highly regarded and established partnership. Our governing body is highly effective and supportive. Our children are wonderful and keen to learn and supported by parents who are deeply committed to the school. You will take responsibility for the day to day running of the school, including decision making, community events, safeguarding concerns, communications and staff deployment. Working in partnership with the EHT you will continue to drive up standards and the richness of the curriculum, ensuring that lifelong happy memories and experiences are created for our children.

Awbridge is a happy school, with a genuinely positive staff team who enjoy working together. The school has excellent resources and attractive grounds. Originally built in 1877 with modern classroom extensions, Awbridge has lovely grounds and outdoor play areas that are much valued by the children.
